I understand the legal issues with sharing copyrighted materials like tv shows etc, and ultimately that’s what this feature would probably end up becoming, but I save a lot of my gaming clips to my Plex server that feeds my “Gaming Clips” library. It would be nice to be able to generate a link that points to that file in my library that grants temporary permission to my server for that file so that I could share with my friends.
I know I can upload to youtube and set my videos to unlisted but its a couple extra steps and waiting around for the file to upload and process that would be nice if I didn’t have to go through. Anyone know if there’s a work around?
Only share the Gaming Clips library with interested users.
You could create a “smart collection” from your Gaming Clips library.
e.g. filter by high “star” rating or a certain “sharing label” and sort it by reverse chronological order
Then pin this collection to the home page of users.
They will get an additional “hub” on their Plex start pages with your latest video prominently placed.
