Shared Plugins - Desktop vs Mobile vs App

Hi there,

Preface: Latest Plex Versions/Rebooted everything/Service works flawlessly when viewed from PMS Web GUI.

Somewhat confusing one; A friend & I share Plugins, primarily as a sneaky way to watch BBC iPlayer (the official supported App) whilst abroad. I’m in Australia at present, he’s in the UK.

The Shared Plugin functionality works fine, but only from the PMS Web Interface. When using the App on my Samsung TV, or on my iOS devices, programming information comes up, but no media will appear. It buffers endlessly then eventually times out.

Just wondering if there’s an easy trick I’m missing, really!

Slight addendum: I cannot test this on the standalone Plex Media Player because I don’t think you can browse Remote Plugins in that environment.
