Sharing hard drives over Lan to a PMS

Hi all, I currently have a Plex Media server running headless at home with two 4tb hard drives which is accessed on a Lan network and also remote. I also have a separate pc in another room which I have just installed another two hard drives for media files. Is there any way I can share these drives over Lan network so that my PMS can see them and stream from them. Still quiet new to Plex so any info would be greatly appreciated. Cheers Andy

That’s called “file sharing in the LAN”.
If the PC is running Windows, you can usually activate it with a right-click on the folder or drive.

Tip: use the same user name and password on both Plex server and file server (I’m referring to the user name which is logging on to the computer, and not the plex.tv user account!)

Keep in mind that you then always need to keep the PC running, if you want to watch a file that’s stored on there.
You better disable the Plex server setting “Empty trash automatically after every scan”.

Hey Otto, many thanks for the advice, I’ll take a look a file sharing and give it a go, thanks again :+1:
