Sharing libraries with family

I read all they had to do was create a plex account via an invite. I did that with a test account but says on the phone to watch anything past a minute I had to activate it.

Is this the only way? Just want them to have a diffuser but watch what I have on the library for free.

So, for Android and iOS to play plex beyond the one minute marker, the user either needs to be a plex pass subscriber, or they need to purchase the app once on the respective appstore… It only needs to be purchased once per Gmail account/Apple store account…

I am unsure if having a Gmail family, or an iOS family account changes this…

The only other option is for you to become a PlexPass member anf then create a PlexHome and invite your family to it. They will be able to obtain and use the app for free as long as they are in your PlexHome.

… for as long as you remain a Plex Pass Member. If you drop your membership all those ‘Free’ apps family are using revert back to ‘Purchase Once’.

And including yourself.

Right…

My thinking is:
Family should purchase their apps… it gives them skin in the game (i.e. something to lose if they don’t follow my instructions to the letter)…

lol
