Hi, I just started using Plex and wanted to share my media to my friend in another city. We managed to share to his media server on his comupter. But when he logs on to his TV, my shared media does not appear there. Only his own media files shows.
What are we missing?
Did you look under the MORE > item, which is at the bottom of the left sidebar?
Have you yourself tried to access your server, while being outside of your home network?

I remote controlled friends PC and verified he could access my media on his computer. But on his TV he only sees his own media. Unfortunately I could not remote his TV to verify that it was not hidden under “more”. But according to him, there was nothing related to my media there. Seemed strange.
I am having the same issue with the media I shared not able to play on my friends’ tvs. One of my friends is able to play the shared media on their iPad, but when they get home to play it on their TV, it doesn’t work. I am able to access my media out side of my home network without any problem. I have googled and tried everything I know/read, but with no resolution. Can someone please help me out?
Seems like a bit if a different issue as the @B1G 's friend cannot even see the media to try to play it.
