Sharing quit

Asked this already…no answer. Emailed plex and was told that customer service was only provided via forums. Since I am paying for this service, “go ask the forums” strikes me as the wrong response, but when I answered their email and said so, it was not answered.

Three friends. access to the server quit for one of them a couple of days ago. deleting and re-inviting friend did not work. disabling and re-enabling remote access did not work. rebooting server did not work.

One day later, access quit for second friend. Server was showing upgrade available. After upgrade, access restored for second friend. Still nothing for first.

Can you explain your Plex configuration? Do you have a Plex Home with managed users or are you just inviting other Plex users as friends?

Invited friends. I have only one user (me). The three people who were invited to share my libraries could do so for months, until this week.
I know that this is not a connectivity issue. I had the friend (who can no longer see my server) delete his apple tv from his account and I added it to mine. Works fine that way. Also, he logged out of his account on his computer and logged in as friend #2. Full access. As ‘friends’ they are identical set ups on my server. So, I have no idea

Have you looked at your server log? I would exit the Plex server, restart it, wait two minutes, then have him try to log into your server. When he gets an error and can’t do it, wait two minutes, close the Plex server, and then look at the log and see if there are any error messages regarding his attempted access.

No log entries for login attempt. For comparison, I tried the other friend (that works). that is logged.

His account is making no effort to reach server regardless of device or computer. Very odd.

I wonder if there’s an issue with his account and the Plex.tv servers. Can he create a new user with a different email address?

I suppose there is nothing to lose by trying it. I have deleted and re-added the account as a friend numerous times. I have updated the server software twice since this started. And he still can not see my server libraries if logged in as himself.

I just looked at your account and I do see you are sharing with 3 friends. However, 1 of them starting with “L” hasn’t signed into plex.tv in 8 months. If this user has signed out and back in, then it should show that he signed in recently. Could it be your friend is using the wrong account?
