Shield Experience 8.0 Audio Drop Outs

Hey @Achilles, thanks for the reply, however I think you might be responding to my earlier post from last week. My post today contains the info on latest versions of the fix that is available on the Shield 2015/2017 and Shield 2019 models.

That said, my question today was related to your earlier posts where some of the files you played were still showing dropouts. I just wanted to follow-up to see if you, or anyone else, were still experiencing this issue. I just got the latest 8.0.2 3rd hotfix and tested multiple titles in my library (Frozen 2, Zootopia, Big Hero 6, Toy Story 4) that were exhibiting this dropout and thankfully there are no issues on their Atmos/TrueHD tracks anymore.

I suspect that those still hearing dropouts today running Plex on Shield may have remuxed files that were created using software that contained issues. For example, see my last post for the fix that the developer of MakeMKV released only 2 weeks ago.

@cipher A bug in prior versions of MakeMKV could be a contributing factor for some. Nvidia is still working on the issue. There is an issue that was a side effect of the 3rd hotfix. Play a remux of Batman Begins from BD. It will start paused. Work around is to skip forward 30 secs. I am working with Nvidia on this. Occurs with older BD remuxes with TrueHD.

Thanks for the latest info. Great to hear Nvidia are working on squashing what is hopefully that last few related issues here.

I have the movie enchanted (old blue-ray) but has a TrueHD track. At the very beginning the audio is crakly… first say 10 seconds… if you pause and skip forward or backward it appears to be fine. It plays fine via PC plex app. I am guessing this is the same issue.
