This is such a s*** show… No problems get fixed. Music not transcoding on Android is now two years old and to no one at Plex gives a s***.
@KarlDag It’s ok though we can watch some web shows while we wait for a fix… Honestly I’ve been a Plex fanatic since 2010. I’m seriously considering emby now…
This should be fixed in 1.13.9

sadly it’s not fixed for me. Transcoding still leads to a crashing server after a few mins for me. This topic Shield: Transcoding crashes with hardware acceleration enabled has multiple people describing that the problem still exists on the latest beta version.
Still crashing, like stated in the other thread. Sometimes it works, but most of the time the transcoder crashes if hardware transcoding is enabled.
I should point out, the fix I was referring to was for the issue described in this thread, where HW transcoding would not complete for sync jobs. If there are other issues, we’ll need to investigate those separately.
Respectfully, I suggest you install a server on a ShieldTV for yourself and try to use sync on Android.
Some music, say a playlist. Then a few tv shows with some settings (3 next unwatched episodes, maybe) and a movie or two.
You’ll have bugs to fix for a few years.
That’s something I did a week or so ago, and it worked fine for me. 
What version of Android are you running on your Shield?
Can confirm that there is no fix, HW transcoding still doesn’t work on SHIELD PMS.
With that sample you provided to us, or with different videos? 
Not the same sample, but another video in the same series. Using Shield PMS 5456.

So it works for the previous sample you provided, but not something else now?
Will do. The sample i provided now HW transcodes, but the full file from which the sample came from still fails.
Are you able to provide the full file, then? We tested with the sample provided, so believed that was fixed.
As hardware transcoding is literally broken due the low memory issue, it is probably the same problem.
Just PMed you the link. The sample was only 15mb, but the full file is over 3gb, probably is a low memory issue as mentioned above. The HW transcoding still fails on Shield PMS 1.14.0.5465
I can confirm that sync still fails on the shield with Shield PMS 1.14.0.5470
Same here. Had to uninstall updates.
I need Server logs please to show that we still have the memory issue - The nVidia team are not finding it easy to reproduce this
