I recently discovered that my shield cannot be hardware transcoded, and hw is not displayed on the playback information

Did you already check if the files are supported by the Shield’s hw-accelerated transcoding to start with?
It was possible before, I don’t know why, but suddenly it doesn’t work, and I restore to the previous version. h264 can’t be transcoded either.

The h264 file that could be transcoded before can not be converted now, and the hardware transcoding is not displayed
I found out that hardware transcoding is possible using the web version, but the Android app cannot. Play the same video

Could be based on what format the Android client is asking for (e.g. if that target isn’t supported by hw-accelerated transcoding).
Could you share your server logs after playing the same file in both the web client and Android?

I have the same problems. After I go to 1.24.5.5173 again HW transcoding goes. There are some people here in the forum who have the same problems with the last PMS version, but are spread over different threads.

Yes, PMS and Client is on the Shield.
I’ve been told that this is the expected behavior when playing a video on the same Shield that’s hosting your server. Apparently the GPU is already used by the player and therefore not available for the server to handle the hardware transcoding.
I can’t imagine that because it works with the version I mentioned.

I’m having the same problem. How did you roll back to a previous version of PMS?
I deleted PMS and installed the older version on the shield via “Send Files to TV”. I then imported the database again according to the instructions.
