Shield unable to play any media regardless of server or storage

Have replaced the hardware, did a total reset, have installed the latest builds of plex (7.19.2.11789), pms (1.16.5.1488), and on 8.0 for shield. have added media to internal storage (movies folder on internal 16gb storage) and have used an external sandisk 3D SSD with a plexmedia folder under \SHIELD\TO Exter USB drive\NVIDIA_SHIELD\PlexMedia.

nothing plays for more than a few minutes. sometimes i get the “server not powerful enough” error, sometimes playing just stops after a short time. nothing has changed with my setup recently at all.

Likewise. Same symptoms. Nothing has canged on our setup either except for recently updating Plex.
