Show Lyrics Disappears on Android

My Android phone client keeps losing the Show lyrics menu item. If I stop the app, clear the data and reinstall, the menu item comes back but a few hours later when I play again it’s gone. At least as of last week this was not happening. Web clients, Android TV and Roku are not affected, they display Show lyrics as expected.

The library is set to find lyrics automatically and the scanner and agent are both Plex Music.

Has anyone seen this? Ideas?

I have the exact same problem. I have three Samsung S20 5G phones with current Plex app connecting to my Plex libraries on WD NAS.

Same song from same playlist shows lyrics on Plex Amp from all three S20s. On Plex app “Show Lyrics” isn’t on the menu anymore on two of the three phones (was there for last year on all three).

Where did the menu item go and why is it on one S20 and missing from two others?

Aha! Even though playstore says the apps are up to date on all three phones, the one that works is using V 9.25.0.2374.

The the two that no longer display “Show lyrics” are using V 10.2.0.4488.

One of the phones that didn’t work had a prior V10 version but i just updated it to V 10.2.0.4488… still doesn’t display “Show lyrics”.

Was this possibly a bug introduced between these versions?

FIXED!!!
Rolled back to the earlier version that was installed on the phone that worked.(Probably don’t need to go back that far because that version was from June '23 and the bug was introduced in the last month or so).

Did the rollback on both of the phones that had the problem and now they both work. Remember to turn off automatic updates for the Plex app in the playstore manage apps, otherwise it will just reinstall the version with the bug.

Had to do the same on my samsung tablets. With this bug impacting so many devices, I hope they come up with a bug fix in the next release.

I see new version 10.3.0 is out. Does it fix this bug? I didn’t see it in the release notes.

The current Plex version 10.5.0.4996 on Android still has this issue.

Sorry, I don’t have an ETA on that.

The issue is going to be fixed with the 10.9.0 release scheduled to go out roughly in 3 weeks.
