Currently Plex only shows subtitle language. This is annoying when an anime uses subtitles to translate signs/songs/etc. and I have to open the file in vlc to see which of the 2+ tracks I want.
This is a long standing feature request indeed.
It helps to always have the audio tracks and subtitle tracks in a standardized order.
If you are using Plex Web as client, you can open a video’s mediainfo to see the track titles.
Fun fact: 3 years later, it’s still a long standing feature request. It’s also embarrassing. There’s no good reason I should have to rearrange tracks or use a mediainfo listing. If I click the “subtitle” button, it should show me the track names.
There’s also a flag on MKV tracks that designates a “default” track, which Plex dutifully ignores.
Please fix both of these. The best time would have been three years ago, but the second best time would be now.
I keep coming back to see if they have added this yet. Is there a feature request page we can link to to up vote this or something? It seems a small change with big impact for those of us who like foreign films.
