This feature suggestion is an opportunity for Plex to make money.
Show via notification or an “Upcoming” section on the home page upcoming album releases or concerts for artists in my collection. There can also be a little notifier on the player where I can click or tap for more info. Provide order or per-order links. Feel free use to affiliate links to pay for the service.
If this feature is successful, it could grow into something more, all with earning potential. Big picture: Media metadata tracking service. Offer the ability to track anything media related. For instance, add a tracker for certain movie stars. Or, “You might like based on your movie collection & viewing preferences.”
All this would be opt-in, of course.
