Upcoming Music Concerts/Tours

I was looking at my music library and noticed that Train had an upcoming concert in Canada. I thought that was really awesome they showed that but then as I thought more and realized that it wasn’t really helpful because it is hidden. Plus, I don’t live in Canada so it is not really relevant to me and why have it at all if it is hidden away. So I thought of a way that it might be more useful and then it would actually have a purpose.

Feature Request
Have either a tab on the left that can be turned off or on that is called Concerts or just have it sit at the top of the music section when in music library. Ideally it would show me concerts that are within x miles of where I live. I could set the radius to 25 miles or 200 miles if I wanted but then I could see concerts more relevant to me. Plus, only show concerts for artists in my music library and would show them as far as 6 months or so before their concert date. That way if I wanted to buy tickets I would have enough time to get them.

Just label the concerts correctly (use filebot), create a library named “Concerts” and add the files to it. Presto  Works for me.

Did you know that you can switch the ‘Discovery’ main page of Plex Web into a Discovery page just for music?

If you switch it to Music, and then scroll all the way down, you have at least all the artists on tour collected.
And of course this list is based on the artists which are in your library.

@OttoKerner I didn’t know about that feature, that is cool but still not useful. I have to click through each artist to see when and where they are touring and chances are they will not be close to my location nor will I want to buy a last minute plane ticket to go see them. Plus I might not even be able to get tickets because it could be sold out.

For example… When I click on Jason Mraz it says he has a concert July 21 but it is in Chicago. I would probably have a hard time getting to that concert. But if the feature I requested existed it would actually tell me that Jason Mraz had a concert in Nampa, Idaho on Sept 4 (because that is within 25 miles of me and within 6 months). No plane ticket needed, I still have time to buy the ticket without it being sold out and I didn’t have to use other tools to figure it out. Plex… this great tool I use on a daily basis would just continually keep me up to date on it (If I had the feature enabled).

@Dafreakzo I don’t think I understand… Would I have to download a concert list and import it into plex? Where would I get this concert list? Why do I need to use filebot to rename the concert list file?

At this point you are confusing me as well. If you just add the files to your hdd and create a new library for concerts Plex will auto populate your library with a list of every show you have. If it is not accurate, as with every video in Plex, you can edit it with the accurate concert info.

The OP didn’t ask how to add concert videos into Plex.

The topic op did ask how to get them listed in a certain way. I explained in detail how to add the files so it will display and show all the information pertaining to the concerts that the op is referring to. My apologies for any miss-understanding.

@Dafreakzo sorry for the confusion, but I was referring to displaying upcoming live events. Such as a concert that would be in my hometown in 6 months or less. I will try and reword it so it is clear that I don’t mean just another library.
