Sorry, I had disabled debug logging again after posting the first occurrence. Thursday is a popular day for importing shows, I will turn it back on and expect to have some more examples then.
Here are my current scanner settings. I changed to the beta a couple weeks ago in an attempt to fix the issue, but it did not help.
You will probably need to also upgrade the library to the new scanner. See the options in the popup when you select “Manage Library” - there should be an “Upgrade Matching” option
I notice that in your screenshots from Plex, the file paths start with a lowercase directory name (such as “/tv/…” and “/requests/…”) but they start with uppercase or mixed case directory name in the directory listings ("/TV/…" and “/Requests/…”).
Just wondering whether this could be causing issues, as some file systems are case sensitive, so it may be worth re-adding the locations to Plex ensuring that the case of the directory names match what is on the file system.
I don’t know if this is a permanent fix or not, but I blew away my libraries, recreated my symlinks, and then re-added the libraries. At the moment there is no duplication, hoping it stays that way. I will be sure to post again if it returns. Thank you for all the assistance!
I have seen similar symptoms, where the count is two with only one file on the drive, but in my case the file is not loaded from Sonarr, but from a HDHomerun OTA recording made using the Plex DVR. More prevalent is the same recording showing as two separate tiles with different images for the same recorded TV show. “Plex Dance” clears the duplicate entries.
