Shows and movies stop loading when desktop goes to sleep

  1. open plex in a web browser
  2. start playing a movie or tv show
  3. pause movie or tv show
  4. allow desktop to go to sleep
  5. turn desktop back on
  6. resume movie or tv show
  7. the movie or tv show will not continue loading on its own and you can only watch to the point it had previously loaded.

You are required to refresh the web app and then resume the media file.
Ideally, the file would automatically continue loading so the file doesn’t pause on its own.

Don’t pause. Just Stop.
The playback position will be saved and can be resumed on the same or a different Plex client which is signed into your plex account.

yes, same thing. it will be saved, I agree. But once you resume, it doesn’t finish loading the episode or movie. you can play the next few minutes but it will stop loading
