Shows constantly buffering

All of a sudden my server is constantly buffering streams on local, even through direct play on Chromecast with Android TV, and even when playing through the browser. I’ve tried everything from rebooting the server, router, NAS, and client devices. Settings are unchanged from previously working states. Plenty of horsepower to watch all of this stuff too. It appears to buffer a segment of the file, then the client finishes playing the segment, then network activity spikes through the server dashboard, it appears to be processing the next segment, then about 30 seconds or so later the client resumes. It’s like it’s asking for the next segment only after it finishes its current segment instead of ahead of time. Sometimes the episode play timer keeps running though, and the sever never resumes playing the file.

Machine is Mac Pro running 10.14.6 latest security update, 2 x 3.06 GHz 6-core Xeons, 64GB RAM, Radeon RX 580 8GB.

Please help, thanks!

Think I figured it out. With the latest update to chromecast with google TV streams would freeze at the client level. I have concluded this was due to energy saving settings in the chromecast. After disabling energy saving settings for Plex, streams work as they have before.

Thanks I’m experiencing random freezing on my ccwgtv as well. Going to try this. Honestly I’m unimpressed with the CCWGTV. Probably will pick up a Roku soon.
