Hi there, i have tried different settings and plex is till buffering a lot on the Chromecast with Android TV, why is it taking so long for you guys/girls to look into this and solve the problem.
If I manually go into play back setting and select convert automatically it plays nicely. why do is it keep doing this? why does the server not automaticaly convert when it detects buffering issues. Other files play fine. I had this same problem last year then you released a beta test of a new player and it solved it but it does not seem to have been implemented.
Please not that this file that I am playing which is Black Pantha plays fine via the plex app on my LG TV. I am also using the latest beta version of the App on the Chromecast with Android TV
Your server seems to think there’s drops in the connection from the Android TV client. If that’s the case, there might be some more details about that in the client logs.
Do you get the same buffering if you disable automatic quality adjustment?
Given the logs are quite flooded with those messages… what do you get to see if in your server’s “Now Playing” dashboard while streaming this fiel from your Android TV?
yeah it still does the same buffering. cant get client logs as the option does not work on the chromcast with andriod tv. took another log of the same film playing with auto adjust off. I have also taken a log of a film that does play, what is frustrating me is that the film that is causing the issue, plays, fine on the app on my webos tv, and on kodi,vlc and kodi plex plugin. So i think its a chromcast issue.
I have just recoded the mp4 file of black panther to an mov file, and it appears to have solved the problem. it looks like the mp4 format mite be the issue
