Hello
What sort of steps should I take to debug this? I have a library of TV shows, with tvdb agent and with files that follow plex naming conventions. The library is large, over 200 shows. It works like a dream, gets metadata and recognizes external subtitle files.
Except for one show. It stubbornly claims that there are no subtitle files. I’ve renamed an episode of the show a few times. I’ve tried moving one season of the show elsewhere, then clean trash, and move the season back and manually scan again. To no avail. Should I move the entire series to another location and clean bundles or something?
I tried looking at the logs and the only relevant info to my eyes was that the subtitle stream gets set to -1.
edit: also, I noticed that when I moved the season back, it got recognized as “familiar” in a sense that the season was already marked as watched. Is there a way to completely purge season information and get a “fresh start”?
I did the Plex Dance (move away, rescan, clean bundles, move back, rescan) and then the show appeared and the subtitles appeared also. But this time the show didn’t get a match automatically.
I the googled a bit more and it turns out that the particular show in question has had matching issues before, due to tvdb. I manually matched it and Voilà - it works. I do seem to recall that I matched it manually before, and that may or may not have triggered the subtitles to disappear.
All in all, it now works. Thanks for your time, Otto
