Shuffle All Music

Hello everyone,



First of all, I’d like to congratulate Elan and the Plex team on an awesome release with Laika!



That being said, I’d like to have a “Shuffle All” option in the Music sections. We can play by artists, genres, etc but cannot simply “press play” and listen to everything, shuffled or not. The current shuffle is limited to pressing C and shuffling the selected item (artist, album,etc)



I suggest adding either an “All Tracks” in the list under “All Artists” so we can shuffle that list (in my case, 3000+ tracks) or simply a “Play All” with shuffle option.



I really enjoy Plex and would like to finally retire iTunes as my music player for this reason alone.

I have mentined this to the Plex team in the chat. this is rather a menu issue then a shuffle issue. You can shuffle all your music from iTunes if you go to Music channels > itunes > artists and then press “C” up comes a menu which let’s you shuffle all your music. This menu is currently missing for plex > music. But the team has already opened an internal ticket for that.

I do not use iTunes. I have 5500+ MP3s stored in a tiered folder structure like so:

I would love to uninstall Orb and just go with Plex as it suits all of my needs, however with Orb there is an 'All Songs' folder on the Ps3 that allows me to shuffle every song I have. I cannot do this with Plex as there is no way to load all of the songs or a playlist of all the songs I have. I can shuffle an album, or an artist, but I would like to be able to shuffle all of my music and just let it play randomly from my PS3.

Play All would need to be able to read and shuffle multiple folders and sub-folders, reading music across and down through all of them. Just makes a list of every track in all the defined directories and continuously shuffles them.

+1. This is a huge omission!



Also need to be able to star tracks and it store them in the files and then create play lists, and have also playlists automatically for all 4 and 5 stars etc.



All standard music playing stuff the media center had in 2002…

Hello

Has there been any movement on this?

I have been been mucking around for a couple of hours trying to figure out what I am doing wrong and why I cant play all my mustic and then enable shuffle/random. I can only do it with an artist etc as mentioned above.

So this is actually a missing feature rather than me being useless?

I guess i cant get rid of mediatomb for freebsd... how can this be.. cant shuffle all songs? really?

I’m willing to bet this is just a spammer, priming the user account.

The question (mine anyway) is how to shuffle your whole Music collection on the web app. I can only seem to shuffle albums or playlists. Thanks.

You go into your music library and click on the Shuffle icon.
