Thank you for plexamp! Waiting it for so long! Now, one thing will make it perfect for many of us, to be able to shuffle entire folders.
Please, make your magic…
Mind sharing a specific use case for this?
I’ve just searched ab it and while I found a few threads asking for more folder based features in the regular Plexapp, I couldn’t find a single one about Plexamp (maybe I missed something but it doesn’t seem there’s been much demand for this → as for “many of us”…). This is not meant to be judgmental or condescending – I’m just curious as I don’t have/get that use case.
Hi there! When I browse my music folders in plexamp, it does not shows the top menu with the play and shuffle buttons… I sure that´s an important feature in a music player. Thank you for your help.
Maybe my question wasn’t particularly clear ![]()
I understand what you’re asking for.
I don’t understand what you need it for — e.g. given how you can navigate, filter your libraries by various criteria or have regular/smart playlists etc.
I’ve seen there’s the occasional user going a long way to reflect some structure in a file system — I just don’t get where you cannot currently handle that with the available means offered by Plexamp.
Hi again! Resuming… I can shuffle all artists, albuns, soundtracks… that plex organized for me, but I can´t shuffle a specific folder with a music selection made by me. Solution: creating playlists wich cannot be created from within the app?
Sorry for my english.
Hello,
I like all that Plexamp has to offer so far…, that being said, I would like to see the option to create playlists from my folders. I know I can do it by artist, album, etc…, however, the option to pick whole folders of a genre is something a music player of this caliber should have, hope to hear back if this is a possibility.
Regards,
Plex doesn’t have a concept of determining genres or other levels of categorizations beyond the basic media matching from the file system. You can create smart playlists based on genres – but based on metadata, not folder organization.
