I would like to see an option to create a playlist of different shows that get shuffled together and then played in series order, through block viewing (x number of episodes played in a row for each of the shows selected).
The feature would work like this -
You go through your TV library and select the shows you would like to incorporate.
Then you would select something like, add to “Shuffled Chronological Playlist”.
Next you would be prompted to select the number of episodes (Blocks) to play for each of series selected. So, if you select 4, it will play the first 4 episodes before continuing to the next show. Then the next show would then play its first 4 episodes before continuing on the 3rd show to do the same and so on until it has played the first 4 episodes from all of the shows selected in the playlist.
Then it would start over with the first show, playing the next 4 episodes in order and repeating the process down the line of shows until it has played everything on the list in order 4 shows at a time.
I think this is a great way to get the feel of watching a tv station you created with little effort on the user’s part.
There’s existing feature suggestions discussing exactly such an option for entire libraries, on-deck episodes or individual playlists.
From your post, the one for shuffling shows in a playlist in sequence seems to be the one that’s covering what you’re suggesting in this thread.
I suggest you comment/vote in that thread in order to avoid distracting/dispersing votes and attention for those suggestions.
Side note: my apologies if you perceive this as shooting down all of your suggestions – that’s not my intention. We’re trying to avoid swamping the suggestion forum with duplicates where none gets critical visibility on its own. Therefore, please search for existing suggestions before posting duplicates. Thank you!!
