Sign in problems!

I have a yearly Plex pass and lately I’m unable to sign in on the web unless I sign in via the Plex main web page. If I attempt to sign in by right clicking on the icon in my tray, the sign in boxes come up and I enter my info but then the response is that the server or web page will NOT sign me in and does not recognize my password etc…

I am able to go to www.plex.tv and I can sign in that way then enter through the “my account” but why can I NOT sign in via the tray icon when right clicking and selecting check for updates?

I did download and installed the most current server version but the results are the same.

I am able to use the plex app on my iphone and ipad. My only problem is with the tray icon on my “Win10 PC build 1804” not letting me sign in when I want to check for an updated server!

As you all know there is NO direct contact link either for tech support which is pathetic for a streaming service you pay for!

Any advise / help would be appreciated…

if you go to https://127.0.0.1:32400/web and it redirects you to https://app.plex.tv to sign in, can you? when you sign in via browser it redirects to the same place https://app.plex.tv so I don’t understand what else you could be seeing by choosing to go to app.plex.tv or some other way. does the sign in screen look different?

because clicking on the server logo in the task tray to “open plex” should open the browser and go to the same place. I am curious what URL it is taking you to if not that

It starts by going to the one u asked about but quickly changes over to the www.app.plex.tv/ address

I know it probably jumps by quickly but does it look like it says “http” or “https” at the start of the URL before it redirects. just trying to think of what could be different
