Plex has started acting very strange on one of my servers. All of a sudden it can’t sign in correctly, or find the server. The second server I have works fine. I have deleted everything I can find on the server that has anything to do with Plex, but after a new install, I have the same problem. When I get to the sign in screen my correct email address is showing, and when I click on “sign in” a brief message says, I will be automatically directed. Then it tells me there was an “error in signing in”. I’ve recently changed both my email addresses, and password. Those changes work fine on one server, but not the other one. I can go to Plex.TV, and it will start looking for the server, but can’t find it. I’m sure this is a local problem in my computer/server, but I just can’t find the problem. I have been a long time Plex Pass subscriber. Any help, or suggestions ???
If you have changed plex.tv accounts then one or more servers may still be using the old plex.tv account.
We can see which account the server is using by looking at the logs after a restart and assuming you had not disabled debug logging
See this support article for where the logs are
https://support.plex.tv/articles/200250417-plex-media-server-log-files/
So restart the server that you cannot see / connect to. Wait 5 minutes and then look for the Logs folder and copy it and zip the copy and attach
sa2000 - Here is the Plex Log Files. I did get plex to finally see my server, but still can’t sign in.

I can see that the server on IP 192.168.1.102 name Dell3668 is unclaimed and not owned by a plex.tv account
When you open browser can you try each of
http://127.0.0.1:32400/web
http://192.168.1.102:32400/web
https://app.plex.tv/desktop
and for each, sign out and then sign in again. It should let you know that there is an unclaimed server
Does this not work?
What actually happens ? and is it the same with all browsers?
If you are getting an error or a loop, could you open the browser dev console (F12) and select Preserve Log and try again to sign in and save all to a text file or har file and send me by Private Message and outline here of what happened
There is information about browser dev console logging on this support article
https://support.plex.tv/articles/201611836-plex-web-app-logs/
Some other suggestions in addition to trying different browsers
- Ensure that “javascript” is enabled in the browser
- Clear your browser’s cache/cookies/LocalStorage
- Temporarily disable browser extensions/addons/plugins
- Use a Private/Incognito browser window
- Use a different device (e.g. phone/tablet vs computer)
- Test on a different network (e.g. 4G/LTE rather than WiFi)
sa2000 - Did you get the log file you requested which I sent by PM last week ?

Sorry - yes I did get it.
So to summarize
http://127.0.0.1:32400/web claiming of server ends up in a sign-in loop when using Microsoft Edge but actually works with Google Chrome and identical sign in is successful on Google Chrome
There were issues in today and earlier with the login servers replication which may also have given rise to the symptom - but if you tested chrome and edge at the very same time - then we can discard as possible cause
I would suggest disabling all add-ons in Edge and clearing browser cache and then retrying and if you get the issue get a screenshot and the dev console log - selecting All and having previously selected Preserve Log tick box
and do a test with chrome at the same time so we know the back end service is up ok (sign out / sign in)
sa2000 , I finally got it working. I deleted every temp file I could find. Thanks for your help !!!
