Signed up and VERY Unhappy

Server Version#: 4.47.3
Player Version#:5.19.1

I’ve just paid for a lifetime pass and extremely upset.

  1. Everything plays in Spanish as we live in Spain and I have set the audio language to English
  2. We get adverts. What gives? I paid.

I’d like to cancel my subscription please.

The free online TV and video on demand stream from Plex servers. You do not have to install Plex Media Server on your own system to view the content.

Due to content provider restrictions, content varies by location and it is not possible to change the source language. Additional information is available in the Video On Demand FAQ.

Plex Media Server, also free, permits you to view your own media (home movies, music, movies from DVDs, etc). You would download and install Plex Media Server on your own system to use these features.

A Plex subscription, also called a Plex Pass, enables certain features not available in the free version of Plex Media Server.

Appreciated

They could make this clearer. I use a great many streaming services that I pay for and they all provide content in my chosen language ADVERT FREE. I think it’s outrageous that Plex can’t do the same and can’t even take the time to tell prospective customers how bad their paid experience will be.

As the old saying goes…

Treat 1 customer right and gain another
Treat one bad and 10 more will find out

I’ll give them a few days as it’s the weekend but come Monday will take to social, feel totally violated.

It appears you totally misinterpreted what a personal media server’s primary purpose is - which is not acting as a streaming service. PLEX has streaming aspects, but not very robust since it is not its purpose. Feel free to comment on media - no one will read it so its not much of a threat. In as far as clear understanding you are the one responsible for reading and understanding.

You could be right but getting Spanish content and adverts is not advertised clearly enough.

What would you expect living in Spain?

The free content - and it is free because of the adverts - is legally licensed on a country-by-country basis just like Netflix or any other streaming service has to do.
