Player Version#: Plex Web, Firefox 67
If I sign out of Plex Web, close the browser, reopen it and click the frequently used tile for https://app.plex.tv/desktop#!/status/alerts I go straight to the select user screen. I can reproduce it reliably. Yes I know that link is no longer valid but Firefox persists in offering it to me and it’s a quick way in. Even quicker now I don’t have to authenticate. Other potentially relevant information, I use U-Block Origin.
OK, I’ve stopped being lazy and examined what is happening more closely. I have disabled uBlock and tested. As I’m watching more closely I can see that when I click Sign-Out in the top right I get ‘Checking sign in status’ flicker past, then ‘You are already signed in’ flicker. I have not paid attention to it previously, and just closed the browser. But waiting and looking closer shows the landing screen has the ‘Launch’ icon in the top right. I reproduced it twice, but now on a third and fourth attempt it is logging me out correctly.
I can only assume it is in fact uBlock at fault unless someone has fixed something in the back end at lightning speed.
Once I’ve posted this I’ll turn uBlock back on and see if I can reproduce the problem again.
This is still a problem. If I log into Plex Web, when I visit these forums, I just click on the button to log in and I am not prompted for credentials. If I sign out of Plex Web I can again go back into Plex Web without being prompted for credentials. Only if I sign out of the forums and then sign out of Plex Web do I truly get logged out of Plex Web. I haven’t tried out different combinations. Previously I’m sure you could just sign out from either and I’d be logged out from both when the browser is closed.
