Have to sign out of Plex server every time or else I cant use the app

Server Version#: 1.15.2.793
Player Version#:1.15.2.793

I have Plex installed on my a Windows 10 box. If I access Plex via a browser on that box, things work OK, but only once.

If I don’t sign out (say I just close the browser) and I come back to the server odd behaviors occur and the server is unusable from that machine.

The Dashboard is duplicated. When I click on the Activity icon I see

Servername
Streams

Servername
Streams

If at this point I try and navigate anywhere in the application it brings me back to the home dashboard. The only way to clear this is to go sign out and sign back in.

This never happened when I ran my server on my Mac. This is only since I installed it on Windows/

Same problem here… honestly wish i could revert to a version way older cuz this is getting ridiculous now…

I have similar issues. Sometimes random actions and especially switching users and back breaks the web client, ans I have to log out and back in to connect to the server. It gets quite old/annoying/frustrating.

I don’t know if this is on point, but I run Plex server on a Windows 7 machine and usually remotely access it with RDP. Through trial and error I found that for the server to work properly, I had to lock Windows prior to closing the RDP session.

I don’t watch anything directly on the server, always through an app.

This isn’t about watching on the server. But doing the administrative functions. Obviously they have a fix if the web app works fine. The whole point of Plex for me is to host my own service. Having to use the Plex hosted web app to access my local server bothers me.

Same issue (Windows 7, version 1.15.4.919)- if I change users, leave the computer up for any period of time, or sometimes just when I’m looking around in settings, the web app will revert to the home page, and I can’t do anything from there. If I click on any folders, movies, or even try to get back into settings, it will just reset to the home page. I fixed it earlier by reverting to an earlier build, but I was hoping they’d have it figured out by now.

Try using app.plex.tv
(Put a bookmark into your browser or onto your desktop).

That defeats the purpose of hosting my app if I have to access it via that URL. Since it is fixed there, seems they should push that fix out.

No, it doesn’t.
Plex cannot be used without internet connectivity anyway (at least not permanently).
And the URL in your browser onyl determines from where the web app is loaded into your web browser. Once it arrives there, it will work exactly the same way – reghardless from where it was loaded. The data flow from your Plex server to the Plex app in your web browser will be exactly the same.

Fixed in the latest version
