If using Multiple devices if all tuners are in use it will not move on to next device.
If another user is using a tuner assigned to Plex whether it is by DLNA, Web Browser, or any App … Plex does not know this tuner is in use and if it tries to record on it … it will fail even if other tuners are available on the device.
Need to be able to set Priority of tuners to be used … as I have tested connects and Primes … but for some reason it always makes the Prime the first tuner to be used… I would like to use the Connects first.
So far these are some of my findings … if you have had other experience’s with Silicon Dust tuners feel free to contribute to this thread… let’s try not to bash Plex but keep the discussion civil and on Silicon Dust tuners … in the end we will benefit from this.
My experience is not along the lines of #2.
I can use my tuner (an Extend) with the Channels app (my wife uses that because of the traditional EPG grid) and Plex will still record a show I have scheduled.
Since I currently only have the one tuner I cannot speak to the other two issues.
One issue I have seen is that Plex will not always release the tuner it was using when finished. It is usually when I try and use it for LiveTV. I have to either reboot the Extend or restart PMS (a reason for having a restart PMS button in the WebApp so I don’t have to remote into the headless server box).

I have seen the tuner stay locked sometimes when I use my Galaxy S8+ … but a user in the SiliconDust forum created a great tool to check the status of your tuners and unlock if necessary . No need to reboot device or plex.
you can find it here … Locked tuners in red lock … you just click on the lock it will give you the option to unlock tuner.
Thanks for the link, unfortunately I am running Macs. While I do have a couple of Windows machines they can be off 50% of the time so easier to just remote in and restart Plex.
Great to know that I am recording the Alabama game … tuned same channel on my ShieldTV, Android Galaxy s8+ and my Pixel C tablet … and only 1 tuner is used for recording and livetv playback.
