Is this going to be the Plex supported official app or will Plex create an official app?
In the about tab it says the version is 7.x.x, the app store says 1.x.x, I'm sure that the right version is installed, but oversight in updating version info in this release?

PLAYz isn't officially supported by PLEX - I created it because PLEX inc hadn't shown any interest in building something themselves (LG are pains in the ■■■■ to deal with)
The about TAB lists the build number I use ... the LG web store requires a version 1+ to release hence the difference (They are the same)
Updates are automatic - when I release them they will show up on the TV
Hi I have just purchased the PlayZ app for my new LG Smart tv (42LB6500). However, not all my files are showing up on the TV app - even though they show up on my Plex media server on my computer.
I currently have Plex media server on my computer with two file formats
E:/movies filename.extension and
E:/movies/Folder Name/filename.extension
This second one is where there are two parts to a movie, or where there is additional info like jpgs and subtitles etc..
The PlayZ doesnt seem to be finding the second type (ie. a folder within the movie folder). Any suggestions?
Also - is there a way to fix my audio to always be stereo as I do not have surround sound attached to the TV.

Multi-part movies are a work in progress and not currently implemented ...
My PlayZ app for my LG TV doesnt play all the files, even if they work perfectly in plex, and even if they are the same file name and extension type.
For example. In the same folder, I can play one name.S01E01.mkv file on my LG TV using Playz, but the next episode, with the same name formating: e.g. name.S01E02.mkv will not play.
I have checked there is nothing wrong with the files - both of them work properly using plex on my computer, but through Playz, only one works ... any ideas?
Turn on transcoding in options .. the TV only supports a limited number of codecs
I know it's sound weird but I want to buy an LG Smart tv (web os) because of the PlayZ App. I waited for PLEX official app to appear in LG Store but when I was on the verge to turn to Samsung Smart tv (because they have Plex official app). your app appeared :D. I have an external media player attached to may 5 years old Samsung LCD tv but i want to get rid of 2 remote controls. (one for Samsung and one for media player) and PlayZ app integrated in tv help me with this. Plus that PlayZ has graphical interface with cover movies and posibility to see plot and mark as watched is a plus. Egreat presents movie just like a title list ... and doesn't offer any info about movie/tv series.
My question is ... if in the feature when LG update WebOS ...this update might be incompatible with PlayZ and make PlayZ app not working anymore ? Because developer might stop updating PlayZ for verious resons ...(lake of time, etc.)

Really poor from a developer, this is your app, it may not be your fault that there are limitations in the software as a result of LG's OS but it still ultimately means you are selling a sub-par product. Really it shouldn't have been released officially for all LG models until the basics were fully functioning. Too many people want to blame LG but you are still continuing to sell this when there are known problems, most of the posts in this thread relate to the subtitle issues, this is still a waste of money for myself and many others.

Thanks for your ignorant opinion ... LG made the app available to webOS models not me, I didn't apply for it to be! The vast majority of people are happy with the app and a work around for subtitles as been provided - use transcoding! As a developer I can only work with what LG provides ... I released it because the vast majority of my user base requested it to be ...
If you want a refund contact LG and get your $5 back ... Maybe then buy a beer!
fyi - You may consider it a waist of money but 7000+ other don't ... I built this app for me, and only released it because many many others requested it to be - I also still make the source available for others to package and run it off USB if they don't want to buy it ...
About 3 weeks ago I bought a new LG Smart TV for one of the rooms in my house. I bought your app which saved me having to purchase another Apple TV or Amazon Fire for Plex. It worked perfectly without a hitch.
Until yesterday that is. It suddenly stopped being able to find the Plex Server. Nothing has been changed. Even pressing scan just throws up a message saying 'No Plex servers found on your local network'.
Every other TV or device in my house can access my Plex server fine.
It's not the WiFi connection because I can access Netflix from the LG Smart TV just fine.
Any ideas on what the problem could be?
As a side note - the LG TV has started to randomly switch itself off as well. I believe this to have been a problem previously caused by Plex? Though I was lead to believe that this was no longer an issue?

(General Settings / About this TV/Check for Update) If your TV isn't set to auto update you may not get a prompt to install the updates from LG. First of all, thank you for taking the time to make this app available to the public!
I'm having some issues getting the app to play certain movies. I can't seem to find a specific pattern though I have noticed it won't play any of the original Star Trek movies (1-6) which are 1080p. These are all from the same disc set. It makes no sense to me that it won't play these but will play other 1080p movies. The player will list "Error: 0" on the top right of the screen and halts playback prior to displaying the running time in the progress bar of the player. Attempts to hit play just result in "Error: 0" being displayed again.
Like I said, it plays most of the other movies just fine. I'm able to play all of the movies in my collection via the web player and the iOS app without issue. Is there some place I can look for further information as to what "Error: 0" means and what I could do about it?
i have just recently purchased the 65lb7500 LG WebOS TV. i am having issues with the sound output from the playz media app to my onkyo receiver via ARC on HDMI. i am getting a signal to the amp put my amp doesn't reconise the dolby digital or DTS formats. this makes a big difference to my home theatre system and is really frustrating as i use to have the older 60LA6800 which didn't require an app and had no issue with the audio, when i purchase the new tv i assumed it would be the same as the old one. does anyone know how to fix this?
on the up side the app makes my home theatre look ten times cooler with the plex theme compared to my old TV which was just files in folders.
I bought an LG 42LB670v but i can't find PLAYZ in any Store. I set my country to UK and Other and in any LG Store i searched I couldn't find PLAYZ app. In what store is it available ? I know is available in LG Store World or something but there is no World when you choose country in Settings: only Others and a list of most important countries.
Everythink is OK! After i made an software update, PLAYZ appeared in LG Store UK. I don't understand why is not present in every country store ... I made an account and bought app ! :)
Movies (as far as i tested) are playing well accept 2 problems (I have Plex server on a PC with i3 an 8 GB RAM);
1. All movie stored on external HDD (wich is connected to PC by USB) are seen by PLAYZ, I have covers, etc but when i want to play them ... i see only a black screen with controls for play, FF, etc at the buttom of the TV. Whay that? Movie stored on internal HDD are ok.
2. Can I increse subtitle size stored in mkv file ?
