Sorry you’re having a problem, hopefully I can help fix it.
To delete the app hold down the touchpad over the app on the home screen and then when it starts wobbling let go and press the play / pause button.
Try deleting and reinstalling, and if that doesn’t help drop me a PM and I’ll try and figure out the issue.

Audio question though. I’ve set DD in Plex Server preferences and also set audio to Dolby Surround on the ATV itself.
I played 3 types of file:
DD 5.1
DTS-HD
AAC 2.0
…all 3 (as per the amp) are Dolby Digital sources with all channels showing as in use. So what is Plex doing? Assuming DD 5.1 is indeed 5.1 but is the DTS-HD being transcoded? Why does AAC 2.0 show as DD?

I’m not an expert on Surround Sound I’m afraid, but I think once you enable the DD option in Plex settings it transcodes everything to DD, maybe including AAC? I’m not sure unfortunately, these decisions are made by the media server.

Thank you sir … I figured as much, just curious if you knew. I’m guessing the Plex app will behave the same so I can bug the plex people on another thread
At first, let me say “Thanks!” for the app. Just bought it on my new ATV4.
But I found some issue: if name of file or name of the item in the library contains “&” it cannot be selected or played.
Checked with following:
Name of the film in the library “Angels&Demons”, name of the file “Angels&Demons (2009).mkv”
Click makes nothing.
Name of the TV Show in the library “Will & Grace”, clicking on it routes to seasons list. Episode names also contains “&” and clicking on the name makes nothing also.
Checked films and shows with other symbols and they seems OK - extra latin (french, Italian) characters and cyrillic ones in the library items and file names do not affect.

i’d also like setting to get rid of the theme music if i’m not just missing it somewhere… I can’t stand that feature, i’ve hated since the first iteration of plex.

Hey, I’ll add this tonight and push a remote update then (not at my computer or I’d add that right now!)
If I set manual server address as IP address wihout port which is default 32400 the app immediately quits. It then does not load again it just quits immediately. Deleting the App and reinstalling gets me back to configure.
Choosing auto configure this time and it takes me plex credentials and I provide the pin then the screen goes all white nothing works. Relaunching the app gives all white screen again and menu has to be pressed to get out of it.
Restarting ATV doesn’t help. All other apps seem to behave.
Plex media server is latest and running on a Linux server on the same subnet as there ATV. Other ATV3’s work fine using plexconnect through trailers and iOS plex apps work ok as well as web interface
When my ATV arrives I want to set it up on my Apple ID (because I have credits). In a few weeks I may want to change it to my partners ID (because our photos are in there). We have set up Family Share and seen it work on some apps. Do you know if Family Share will work with Simple X?

I haven’t tested Family Sharing, but I’ve done nothing to disable it or anything (which devs can do, I haven’t) - so if Family Sharing all works on the Apple TV then it should work fine.
Great app but I notice one thing that is very bad. When I launch a movie/tv show, automatically the transcode process is started. With my app on my Samsung it’s not. Could you explain why simplex start the process ? I am on Ethernet by the way.
I’ve just payed the $2.99, and don’t regret it one bit! Great implementation! I see you making a killing on this until PLEX officially releases theirs. It works flawlessly. As soon as I opened the app it saw my local PLEX server. As soon as I logged into my PLEX pass, it saw my overseas virtual server. The app runs smooth on the Apple TV (4th gen) consumer model. Figured I’d let you know, since you’ve been working from the dev unit.
