Ever since the latest server update about a week ago, skipping ads on all 3 of my various Rokus causes the player to jump back to the beginning of the episode. Sometimes if I use the skip button and jump to a preview thumbnail right before the show resumes after an ad, it will also jump back to the beginning of the episode.
I am also experiencing this. Has the Plex team documented this as an issue?

Same issue here. Suddenly Live TV is a hot mess.
It started with some instances (but not always) of Skip Ads simply dumping me right back to the beginning of the show. Now today it’s happening again (I saw this originally on The Blacklist and am seeing it yet again on The Blacklist), but it’s also dumping me back if I simply use the manual buttons to skip forward over the ads.
This is all on Roku. It happens on the release Roku channel, and also on the preview Roku channel.
So I try all this on my Mac client app; it all mostly works, except now (after today’s client update) skipping forward in any fashion may or may not end with no video (audio is fine). I can close the video and restart it to get it all back, or maybe just pause and then play again.
But, the good news is that skipping ads on my Mac client seems to work. In fact, nothing on the Mac app dumps me back to the beginning like what happens with some recordings when I watch them on the Roku.
Is everyone still having this issue?
I was having the same problem. I removed the PLEX channel from ROKU and reinstalled the channel. It appears that the problem is now resolved. The recording no longer returns to the beginning of the recording when I click on the skip button.
