Skipping audio and slowly out of sync on Chromecast (depending on file)

So I’m using a Sony Bravia XR55X90LU, with a Chromecast 4K with Google TV - I have noticed with some files, I either get one of two problems:

The audio skips after a while for a second.
The audio gradually goes out of sync.

I’ve only noticed it on content that is 25FPS or 23.976FPS - but it’s not consistent.

Compare these two files, one is Dexter, one is Dexter: Original Sin. Original Sin is absolutely fine, no skip or audio sync issues. Dexter on the other hand gradually goes out of sync until I come out of the video and back in.

I have audio sync switched ON on the TV, but have tried turning it off too to no avail. I don’t have any motion settings enabled, and I have refresh rate matching active on both the Chromecast itself and the PLEX app. Note I don’t use the native app for the TV as it doesn’t support refresh rate matching.

Attached are the mediainfo extracts for both files mentioned above. Any ideas?

Dexter Original Sin.txt (3.9 KB)
Dexter.txt (4.0 KB)

EDIT: also note, that this model of TV has no means of checking what refresh rate is being output. I also have the subtitle sync setting on in PLEX, though I understand this only impacts the subtitles themselves.

EDIT 2: I have Disable HW overlay enabled on Chromecast, as this was fix for stuttering video. Turning it off causes the video to stutter again and has no noticeable change for the audio issues.
