Press-and-hold on the right side of the remote to skip to the next episode has been broken for several versions, and is still broken in the latest beta.

From my understanding press-and-hold on the right side of the remote is supposed to fast forward through the video. However this only works for me with Direct Play videos. Doesn’t work with Direct Stream or transcoded videos. Maybe a developer can chime in and answer whether it is possible to fastforward videos other than through Direct Play.
Press-and-hold on the right side is supposed to skip to the next track. It did this up until about 3 releases ago. Now it goes to the pinwheel as if it’s about to skip, and then resumes the current video in the same place.
There’s currently no working way to skip to the next episode on Apple TV using the Siri remote.
Does it not fast forward for you for Direct Play videos? I get what you reported but for Direct Stream/Transcoded vids.
I never notice whether I’m direct playing or not. I have not had any videos fast forward when I try to do that action. In the past it has always skipped to the next track. I do see a >> arrow appear right before the pinwheel now that I’m looking a bit closer.

I think the button behavior has always worked natively as a way to fast forward (see Netflix, YouTube etc). However, I think Plex had issues getting fast fowarding to work with Direct Stream/Transcoded content and so they just made it skip to the next video instead for those type of videos. That feature is gone now like you said, though.
Do you have any mp4 files on Plex? If it’s H.264 you should be able to direct play. You can monitor if it’s direct play or not from the status tab through Plex web.

I am able to skip 10s on a Plex DVR recording, but that is all I have tried on. Rest you finger on the right side of the siri remote and you should see the icon in the play bar and then click.
The new Plex Media Server update (Plex Pass only atm) let’s you fast-forward and rewind with any video now. It’s no longer limited to direct play anymore!
