So I recently lost a drive and when I rebuilt the Plex app my profile and only my profile loads extremely slow.
My wife’s profile does not load slow. Just mine. We are both listed in the home profile and none of my other friends are having the same issue with slowness in loading the menus.
In fact it was so bad that Plex on my Fire TV is completely froze it up and wanted me to “reset” it.
I have emptied the trash and anything else that I can think of.
What am I doing wrong?
Have you tried to optimize your Plex database?
You should do it after adding or refreshing many media items.

I’m not sure what you mean by ‘Profile’.
I have and it’s already been done… by Profile I mean my user “DeLorean”.
If my wife logs into her user profile “Ruby” on the same devices/computers/tablets she doesn’t get the same lag that I am getting… I can launch Plex and if it’s my user profile that was signed in it takes up to a min to load any of the art/on deck details… if my wife logs in (switches to her user profile) there is no wait what so ever
On which device types does this happen?
Is it the same in Plex Web?
Or is only the Android client (which runs on the Firestick) affected?
PC, Roku, Android phone, Nvidia Shield. Like I said… only slow on my user profile, but not when I switch to my wifes user profile
Are you using the trakt.tv plugin or the SubZero plugin?
I’d like to take a look at a logfile.
- activate debug logging (not ‘verbose’!)
- quit Plex Server
- wait 1 minute
- empty the log folder
- start Plex Server, don’t do anything else like browsing or watching or anything
- wait 2 minutes
- start up Plex Web and watch the main page, then switch user profile to your wife and let it sit for a minute, then switch back to your profile
- wait 3 minutes
- shut down Plex server
- wait 1 minute
- zip up the whole log folder and attach it here
I am using the Trakt.tv plug in, never had a problem with it in the past… And it was a fresh install of everything on my cache drive. I am going to do the logging right now… I will post once I have it done
Actually. I am not going to do anything. It’s now magically fixed itself.
