Same here, only worse. When I browse Photos through the Plex channel on our Roku Ultra stick, there’s a constant delay of around 5 seconds between pressing “right arrow” on the Roku remote and the next photo being shown. Aggravating!
If anyone has suggestions on what I can do either on the server side or with regard to Roku settings that might speed things up?
Please share more about your set up:
What version of Plex Media Server do you have?
What format are the photos in?
Can you post the Plex app/channel version and the Roku OS version?
Sure. I’m using PMS 1.18.4.2164-2aa83397b under Windows 10 Home (64-bit) on an HP laptop. Plex Channel version is 6.496153-6d1b63c9b-Plex. The images themselves are in .JPG format exclusively, and most are 1.00 MB in size.
Sorry to say I don’t have the Roku OS version to share at the moment, but it would be the latest (auto-update) for Roku Ultra, which I believe is 9.2.x.
Weird, I’ve got a Roku TV and navigating through photos works just fine here…
I think simply restarting the Roku device (OS ver. 9.2.0) must have done the trick, because scrolling through a different set of 230 photos proceeded much more quickly this time around.
Works as expected now. Thanks for the moral support!
