[Small Bug] Rotten Tomatoes icons on Android mobile and TV

When comparing the icons for Rotten Tomatoes on Android mobile/TV with other versions - iOS and Web + Rotten Tomatoes own site, there seems to be some mismatch in the Android version.

2 examples enclosed:
The Aviator (2004): I expect a Certified Fresh icon, but see the Fresh icon
The Hangover (2009): I expect a Certified Fresh icon, but see a grey star

This is a small bug, but it has been there for quite a while, so though I´d report it.

Certified Fresh | Fresh | Rotten | Audience Score

What´s the Tomatometer?

This bug has annoyed me for a pretty long time now as well, especially with the Chromecast receiving the correct icons now I thought they’d finally fix the icons in the Android app as well…
The problem arose when they implemented the RT scores properly in PMS. Until that point they did not distinguish between Fresh and Certified Fresh. Now they do and they have three different icons instead of two for the critics.

When the ratingImage field in the XML is set to rottentomatoes://image.rating.certified, the app displays the Fresh icon instead of the Certified Fresh icon.
When the ratingImage field in the XML is set to rottentomatoes://image.rating.ripe, the app displays the star instead of the Fresh icon.
Only when the ratingImage field in the XML is set to rottentomatoes://image.rating.rotten, the app behaves correctly and displays the Rotten icon.

So I guess your workaround is to only download bad movies now :p.

I really hope this will get fixed some time in the future. Especially since it really shouldn’t be a very difficult fix…

EDIT: Related

So… the new icons from RT made it to the Android app, but no one will see the tomato because this bug still hasn’t been fixed. Come on Plex, give us the tomatoes

Thanks for all the info, I’ve reported this internally.

Seems like the RT Icons are corrected since Plex for Android 7.2.0.5871-beta
