I used to live in the Chicago area and had live TV/DVR working on my HomeBase NUC with a built-in tuner. I was able to configure all local TV antenna channels and watch them on the client on my FireTV and in the web player.

I moved to the Milwaukee suburbs and stood my Plex server back up but did not have an antenna until recently. I left the configured DVR in plex as it was and did not try to use it.

I recently stood up an antenna and am able to see all local broadcast channels on my TV. I turned to hooking Plex back up. I deleted the DVR and recreated it, specifying my new zip code, but the TUNER CHANNELS showing in the Tuner Setup dialog were of my old location (Chicago).

I deleted and recreated the DVR and rescanned and rescanned and googled for ideas without any success for a couple hours. I finally got the idea to disconnect the coax from the HomeBase and rescan. As expected, the scan found no channels and asked me to check my coax and rescan. I did so, and amazingly, the old Chicago channels were gone and local channels were shown.

HOWEVER, only a subset of the local channels were found; I am getting only 24 of 84 channels and these include none of the key major broadcast channels that I want (4.1 NBC, 6.1 FOX, 12.1 ABC, 58.1 CBS). Of the subset, 10.1 PBS is the only “major” channel shown, and attempts to play it result in “Playback Error
There was an unexpected error during playback. Please visit our forums if you continue to experience problems“.

Again I’ve deleted and recreated the DVR and scanned and scanned and googled without success. I’ll be glad to provide more information, including logs (but I don’t know what logs are appropriate). I really don’t know why this has been so difficult when it went so smoothly back in the Chicago area. Sigh.
