I’m using Smart Collections and have sort set to date, but it still sorts alphabetically.
The sort order for smart collections is determined when you set/edit the filter criteria. You can use all the sort options available for that particular library type (e.g. critic rating, audience rating, release date, duration…).
From what I understand the advanced configuration in the collection itself was only accidentally left there and will be removed in a future update to avoid further confusion (same as a clean-up of the collection’s visibility setting).
Ah, okay! Thanks for letting me know! That fixed it. There’s no universal set Smart Collections to sort by THIS though, right? I have to go and manually update each individual Smart Filter?
Correct. They’re saved with all the filters and ordering you apply while creating (or editing) each of them individually.
