I’d like to see a smart playlist builder, particularly for music. I use JRiver Media Center to manage my music library and they have a smartlist builder that is awesome. You can add media by any pull of the metadata or file attributes imaginable. Genre, Artist, Album Artist, Rating… many more attributes than are necessary but for example:
(x) many tracks
(Selected Artists)
(Selected Album Artists)
(Selected Albums)
(Selected Genres, Styles or Moods)
(Selected ratings, i.e., 3 stars or better)
You can already do that with Plex using a custom filter. When you’ve filtered the library to your liking you can save it as a playlist. That playlist will have a little gear icon on its poster and automatically include future additions to your library that match the same criteria.
