Any ideas on who is responsible for updating Snapcraft packages? Is it canonical, Snapcraft, or the software developer? I want to know who to reach out to about updating an outdated package.
I installed Plex via Snapcraft because it seemed to do so. It is easy to do and seems to run okay. Plex updated to 1.24.xx and Snapcraft is running 1.22 released on May 13th 2021. Not expecting the packages to be immediately updated but would be nice to be maybe a version behind.
Hoping Snapcraft will update to 1.24 to enable a new music feature but I can certainly wait if I had some kind of expectation on when this might happen.
@tamas I see you were able to assist with a similar post as pointed out by @flanderb. Any chance you could double check the automatic updates for this snap?
Edit: unfortunately there has apparently been some kind of issue(s) preventing snaps, I don’t have any answers for if/when it will be resolved, but the team is aware.
@Alez_G@flanderb PMS 1.24.1.4988-1a38e63c6 was uploaded to the snap store. Note that the version number is slightly different than the current stable PMS (1.24.1.4931-1a38e63c6) but it’s built from the same revision of the codebase, so there are no changes in it compared to 1.24.1.4931. This was required because I had to upload this manually after the fact. The next version will have a matching build number to the rest of the packages. Thank you for your patience and apologies for the long wait.
yeah we have hiccups sometimes. If the snapcraft store returns an error when we upload (this happens rarely) we often need to redo the build pipeline again which results in a new build number. But the contents are the same.
