Snap Store updates abandoned / delayed?

Server Version: 1.22.3.4523

I noticed that there have been no additional releases on the Snap Store since 13 May 2021.
Does anyone know if the Snap version of the Plex Media Server has been abandoned / delayed?

I know that beta versions will not go there, but there were already 3 more stable releases, after which this did not happen:

  • 1.23.1.4571,
  • 1.23.1.4602,
  • 1.23.2.4625

Thanks for raising this issue. It is definitely not abandoned, we just had some technical difficulties. It will be updated soon.

I noticed that it still hasn’t been updated. Are there still technical difficulties? Mostly just want to make sure the issue wasn’t forgotten about.

I got tired of waiting for this and removed the Snap Store version and install PMS directly.
Much faster updates via the apt repository and beta releases available to those who need them.

Moving the PMS database from one folder to another was easy and painless. Just zip - unzip the entire directory.

I just wanted to let you know that I am still interested.

So any move on this? I feel like giving up on the snap version ? Also why not publish beta version of the snap as that would allow me to use my Plex Pass with snap

Plex Pass is on your account which enables features, not a special version of the software. Running the Beta versions means you accept testing potentially system breaking features.

Any updates? It’s been two more months and the snap version hasn’t changed.

Any update on the June “technical difficulties” or the vague “soon” time frame?

Also, any tutorial on moving from “snap” to .deb release and keeping your settings? I tried tar’ing up the ‘Plex Media Server’ folder under /var/snap and extracting it to the .deb location without any luck.

I haven’t had much luck moving from Snap to PMS .deb/direct; any chance you followed anything online or can give me some pointers? thanks!
