So can I watch Live TV in the Windows app

The documentation on the site suggests that Play is there and “super simple” but I don’t see anywhere to play, only Record.
I have a Hauppauge Win Dual HD USB which seems to be configured just fine and plex server is linked to it.
I’m on a Windows Home machine.
I’m trying to get the Live DVR functionaility working (as I understand it).
I have 3 month Flex Pass so I downloaded and installed Live TV DVR…
So I’m in the Plex Media Player and I select Program Guide, it shows current programs that havent finished yet, ie they’re still running).
I cant see where to select Play (not Record) just to watch them live.
Help would be appreciated. Or if I can send more diagnostic info, let me know what’s needed.
Thanks,

Just found another thread…
"How to watch Live TV Plex DVR in Windows? "
and it appears that Plex Windows app wont play live TV.
Sorry to crowd the airwaves with more garbage…

I wonder what a simple and cheap workaround might be suggested…

Currently PMP does not support Live TV.

Your best (only?) option right now is to use the Plex Web interface to watch live TV. Not great, and it’s a big missing feature for me too, as I use a Windows box as the primary TV device.

There were DIY ways to get SiliconDust HDHomeRun tuners working with Plex but I’m not sure about Hauppauge tuners. I think there is also a DIY NextPVR option for DIY functionality with Plex, although I have never tried it.

Since you have a Hauppauge tuner you might be able to use WinTV 8 in some way until such time as Plex gets up to speed with Windows app DVR / Live TV.

Edit:

One of the great strengths of Plex is its near ubiquitous platform support. Unfortunately that is also one of its greatest weaknesses because while the support for those platforms is there it is also notably fragmented in terms of feature support.
