How to watch Live TV on windows desktop

The Plex Media Player just announced that it will only start supporting TV view.
Plex for windows does not show live TV.
So what is left to watch live TV? TV view on a desktop is just silly…

But it does.

Are you simply missing the Live TV & DVR item in the left side bar?
Click on MORE at the bottom of said sidebar, then find your server name and ‘pin’ the library named “Live TV & DVR”.

Can confirm that the plex for windows does show TV. And also shows the TV guide. The quality of live TV is not as good as the Plex Media Player. Seems like it does not have a proper de-interlace setting.
Running this on a more than powerful enough computer (videocard is a 1070ti), so would expect the best possible quality. I did not change any settings on either application. Just running them out of the box.
So why is the plex for windows not as good as the older plex media player?

Just noticed, in the plex for windows thread, the following:

Playback

  • Deinterlace when necessary (improve Live TV and DVR playback).

So let’s hope this improvement gets implemented soon.
Kind of surprised things like this are not just standard enabled, as de-interlace has been around for years and definitely improves every video playback out there.
Let’s wait and hope it is implemented before they “kill” the TV guide in plex media player.
