So I recently updated my freenas box which is FreeNAS-11.2-U3 and i stupidly uninstalled the old plex 1.14.1 and installed the 1.15.2.793_1 update and i now cant get to the server setup page. the error i am getting is " A problem has been detected with a core component of Plex Media Server"

When you installed the new one, did you use the iocage pluign? Does the jail have vnet enabled?
yes i did use the iocage plugin and i did have vent enabled. i also had the option “allow raw-socket” enabled and disabled
I also removed 1.14 and installed the latest 1.15 update. I’m getting the same exact message, but I was not using vnet. However I did have “allow raw-socket” enabled.
I even tried to clean my jail completely using iocage clean -a
No amount of restarting, uninstalling / re-installing has helped.

Hi Guys I’ve had the same issue, I’m on Freenas 11.2-U3-1, and ive also reverted 11.2-U3 & 11.2-U2, ive tried installing the PMS from the Plex.tv and updated to 1.15.2.793_1 and reverted to 1.13xxx.
there is nothing in the log that looks out of place, ive deleted the jail and reinstalled it.
when I go to setup the server its says " A problem has been detected with a core component of Plex Media Server". looking on Freenas, plexMedia and Plex DLNA still looks like its running.
I did see the following "WARN - Warning: ex: boost::filesystem::last_write_time: No such file or directory: “/Plex Media Server/Plug-ins”, couldn’t check file: “/Plex Media Server/Plug-ins” in the log but removed it by adding that folder to the Plex.

That’s odd might indicate permissions issues. Still it would explain the serve settings issue.
Dooes it work in a clean jail and installing via pkg install!? (Meaning not using the freenas plug-in).
Do you have steps on how to do that? for FreeNas

I remember reading in a couple of outer forum topics that basically this update is just a hot mess. if anyone knows how i can download 1.14 and manually install it i would be happy
It’s a plex build (code) issue. This version and a few before it are broken on the Windows platform and from what I have read a few other platforms also. I’ve noticed parts of the server app have been breaking one piece at a time since the devs decided to remove plugin (channels) support. I’m going back to windows for now and running 1.14.x works flawlessly.

so i have tried moving the lib folder and now the server will outright refuse the connection to load the web interface
did you restart the Jail?
