I’ve used Plex for years, but now I can’t even stream locally without getting hit with a paywall block, and even though they insist local streaming is still free, they obviously can’t work out the kinks so Plex can recognize that I’m on the same network, the same subnet, sometimes on the same device as the server. I’ve been through all the troubleshooting and it’ll work for an hour or two and then be back to the same bullshit. I’m just done. Time to move on to something else. I’ve freeloaded long enough. And it’s not that I wouldn’t pay, it’s that I won’t pay for a service that I feel doesn’t give two ■■■■■ about the user experience. I was waiting for it to get better, to stop having so many annoying bugs, to start implementing some of the features I would pay for, but it never happened, and instead, features that used to be free are now paywalled, and features that are supposed to still be free are also paywalled. It gets worse and worse every version and now I’m finally out. I’m not necessarily here to whine, but I know I’m not the only one who feels this way because we are leaving in droves and the more of us speak up, maybe someday Plex with pay attention. Don’t bother replying because I won’t check for responses or log in again for that matter. See ya.
