Appears to be the same issue as the one I responded for here on 26th December
I still seem to get the same error that was apparently caused by the Windows 10 Update KB4338819, I’ve had this issue consistently for a long time now and it’s always the same , it will crash the transcoder pretty randomly, sometimes it will go through the entire movie/show just fine, other times it’ll crash and seemingly random moments.
I’ve had this happen with H.264 and H.265 files, MKVs, MP4s and the odd one on a OGV.
Different video sizes from 480p to 4K have had it happen, with and without subtitles varying from SRT to ASS.
This also happened on and off hardware encoding, however I do believe it’s been happening a lot less since using hardware encoding, but that could just be coincidence.
I’ve tried the various troubleshooting tips online (even re-installed and had to setup my entire library again twice), removed the cache folder entirely, all of these seemed to stop it for a bit but it always seems to come back eventually.
Since the function it’s erroring on was one related to some part of ffmpeg I already removed and had plex redownload the codecs folder as well.
And just to note the files seem to be file, I’ve managed to play them all at the exact spots in Plex itself and in MPV, MPC-HC and VLC just fine.

It is possible that a recent windows update brought the same issue as was previously introduced in the July 10 2018 Windows Update (and fixed in the July 16th update)
We have diagnostics from 2 users which has been referred to the development team (rawcap.exe capture of loopback packets for the time of failure plus server logs with debug and verbose logging) - i am not asking for anymore but if the diagnostics are available, i will add them to what has been passed to the devs
Thanks and apologies for over-looking your reply.
I believe you are right that it is mounted (running a docker).
I don’t know where to find the /etc/fstab folder and how to change its setting. Can you advice please? Thanks!

The logs tell me that it was looking for an audio file in a GUID-named folder in /tmp that it couldn’t find. I logged into the container through the terminal to see if there was a pms-25937df2-6038-4e7d-bdc2-307ac0aa33a3 folder in /tmp, but there wasn’t one by that name. After restarting my container and when the show played successfully, the logs showed that Plex had created a different GUID-name folder in /tmp. To verify, I logged into the container again and found that there was a folder in /tmp that matched the GUID with what looked to be corresponding audio streams nested in one of the folders.
This leads me to believe that Plex Server or the Linux container is prematurely removing items in /tmp. But considering that there are some orphaned folders in /tmp with the same naming pattern as above, I’m guessing it’s not Linux doing the removal – or there wouldn’t be any folders in there… right?
Thanks and apologies for over-looking your reply.

The documentation for the Plex Media Server Docker is here https://github.com/plexinc/pms-docker/blob/master/README.md
The problem showing in your logs was a permissions issue in starting the process for the EasyAudioEncoder
Dec 01, 2018 19:46:54.179 [0x1550a4fff700] DEBUG - Jobs: '/config/Library/Application Support/Plex Media Server/Codecs/EasyAudioEncoder-141-linux-ubuntu-x86_64/EasyAudioEncoder/EasyAudioEncoder' exit code for process 1010 is 13 (failure)
I would suggest going through the documentation i linked to for docker and making sure you are following them. If you need help browse the docker forum tagged posts server-docker and if you need to raise it, do that with the server-docker tag
I am now getting the same error, it is preventing me from being able to watch the last 2 programmes I tried without constant transcoding errors. Sometimes it plays OK for a while, then it fails. Very frustrating.
The last error happened at 13:40 CET.
My server is linux, I tried watching on both Chrome and iPad.
I have attached my log file.Plex Media Server Logs_2019-01-11_12-41-43.zip (4.4 MB)

Just following up to see if this fix has been assigned to a release yet.
Hi i was hoping i would be able to get some help please. Recently i have now been getting an error when i try to play a trailer for a movie it will now say "Conversion failed. The transcoder exited due to an error.
I have never had this problem until now i am running my plex server on my Synology DS918+
Everything plays fine its just the playing trailers of the movies im having the problem with .
I am running Version 1.14.1.5488 of the plex media sever on my synology.
Please let me know what i can do to get help on the error thank you.
I updated to the 1.15.0.573 Alpha but still getting the error.
I was having this issue for quite some time on all the devices I was using.(computer, Tv and PS4) The video would play for about 10 seconds and exit. No plex update seemed to fix it. I seemed to forget about it. Well windows just recently released a few updates and I updated. I decided to try it again and this time it worked. I know this isn’t from a plex update because I haven’t had one in several weeks. I couldn’t tell you what update it was but it was one released in 2019.

Logs show loads of issues and also do not have detail - in that you have disabled debug logging
First though I am not sure if this is supported Linux version: 4.17.19-feral - there have been issues reported before with that environment
With regards with what can be seen in the logs
There is garbage coming in on the network - suggest you monitor network traffic and see what is hitting the server and from where

May be the EasyAudioEncoder process failed to start or crashed on launch?
The log would show the EasyAudioEncoder process starting/exiting
Is this directory structure on a mounted volume ?
/config/Library/Application Support/Plex Media Server/
If it is, you need to make sure the /etc/fstab has exec option and no noexec setting - this is because the EasyAudioEncoder binary is held with the codecs directory below that path and gets executed from within that directory structure
Hi thank you for getting back to me i have restarted the server and then tried to play the trailers again but still same thing so i have attached the log files.
i am running the latest Version 1.14.1.5488 the problem seems to only be with playing trailers for the movies when playing the movie it works fine.
