For sometime I experienced that my server would freeze and required a hard reset to reboot.
I would appear 2-3 times a day, but I never had time to really look into it until I reinstalled Windows.
After my clean reinstall the server was rock solid right up until Plex Media Server was installed.
My server was a PC running Windows 10.2004, 8 GB ram, Ryzen 3 2200G, no monitor, no mouse nor keyboard, just RDP.
I installed Plex Media Server to run at login and used Sysinternals Autologin to make sure PMS was running always.
And completely randomly the machine would freeze when Plex was running.
After a gazillion trials and red herrings it turned out to be PMS running under Remote Desktop (RDP) that was causing the problem.
I tested RealVNC instead of RDP and the machine was rock solid again running PMS without issue.
Since RealVNC required a monitor, my solution was to run PMS as a windows service using NSSM - and I got rid of auto login.
My server is now rock solid again and I use RDP without issue.
I hope this story can help others.
