Server Version#: 4.146.0
I just migrated from TrueNAS Core to TrueNAS Scale version 25.04.1. I got it up and running and I’m able to access all of my files via my computer (Windows 10 / File Explorer).
I set up Plex Server on the NAS, and it seems to be set up correctly. I can see my directories in Plex on the web, but I can’t see any of the files in those directories. When I click on the headings it tells me “Movies” is empty or “TV Shows” is empty, even though I know they’re not. I tried creating a new directory and that will show up in Plex, but content I put in the directory does not show. If I try to access via Windows File Explorer, I have no trouble seeing and opening the files.
It seems like I’m missing a permission to tell Plex to read the files in the respective directories, but I can’t find anything like that. It should be noted that Plex worked fine on my old TrueNAS Core system.
Can anyone point me in the right direction to clear this up? Thank you!
SOLVED - I reviewed (again) all the permissions in TrueNAS and this time I applied them recursively. Apparently I hadn’t tried this in the dozen or more times I reviewed my settings. This solved the problem.
