Plex Library Is Empty

I just set up Plex on my truenas core 12 server. The plex file location has some movies loaded on it but when I look at the library on the plex site nothing is there.

I have done some digging but I can seem to figure it out what is happening or what I did wrong.

Thanks in advance.

If you have us guessing, I’ll go with „missing permissions“.

Edit the library, and configure the folders it looks at. Make sure that Plex can “see” the movie folders by browsing into some sub-folders deeper than you normally might, to make sure you can see it all.

Then, as tom said, make sure that the account the server runs under has permission to access the files. I don’t know anything about the Truenas device. Is it Linux?
Edit: Just did a google search (stupid me not doing that first) yeah, it’s Linux. Check permissions, as Tom said.

Thanks for the reply. Im not sure what permissions need to be checked.
Im sure it is apparent but I am still very new to working with plex and truenas.
From the information I found I should have everything set up properly, but I guess I dont.

Not sure if this will help but here is a better description of whats going on:
With file explorer I can navigate to the server and see the movies I have put there. I can also add and remove movies.
When I login to manage plex, under user setting it says I am the admin. However when I set up a library in plex and point it to the mount point I created in truenas nothing populates.

On Linux, the PMS will not run under your personal account but a dedicated service account (plex) in the OS. IIRC that’s the same for PMS on TrueNAS.

Therefore… for Plex to be able to see your media you need to ensure the service account has access to those media files
