[Solved] Plex Media Player - Issue with HDMI audio on my receiver (Passthrough and Plex decoded)

Correct option name is “sound feedback” (sound return was a bad translation I made since my UI is not in English).
You can find this option in your Plex Media Player interface as you can see here : https://support.plex.tv/articles/115000473213-settings-plex-media-player/

Just wanted to add for future reference:

Sound feedback was unchecked on my device but no sound.

I went back to audio / device and changed from hdmi 1 to default (alsa) (figured I might as well go through all options) and now it works!!! Info still says spdif passthrough but doesn’t matter as it works!!!

=) happy days

This was so helpful!
I had exactly the same problem and couldn’t work out why I was only getting 2 channels.
Thanks for the tip! Worked like a charm for me too.

Hi, I’m having similar issue using qnap ts-453be with hd station 3.2.10 and PHT 1.4.2.100

I’ve unchecked navigation sounds off, restarted hd station and pmp too

Unfortunately, I cannot see the default (alsa) option in the audio output device, the only thing I can see is:

  • built-in audio (pulseaudio)
  • built-in audio analog stereo (pulseaudio)
  • defaults (pulseaudio)

Passthrough output device:

  • defaults (pulseaudio)
